The Witch Should Have Burned... At Least It Would Have Put Her And All Of The Readers Out Of Their Misery!

Um, where to begin? For lack of a better saying, THIS BOOK SUCKED! It took me an entire month to read it. Not because it was a hard read, but because it annoyed the shit out of me. I guess you could say I can't stop until I'm finished. Once I start reading a book I have to finish it, no matter how boring or lame it really is.

The only way this book could be fixed is for it to have never been written. Georgia Taylor obviously knew nothing about witches and just made the story up as she went. She did not insinuate, but outright stated that a witch was someone who called upon the devil himself for powers. Obviously she is as dense as they come for the simple facts that witches neither worship or believe in the devil.

I am not interested in explaining what a witch or a christian believes in, I am only stating the fact that this Georgia was seriously confused and mislead. I understand that this book has been written about the burning times and that many women were burned. I mean them no disrespect, but in my opinion Georgia showed great disrespect to every person who ever suffered from this awful tragedy.

This book lacked substance and was down right offensive. It made Christians look like Nazis and Witches look like Terrorists. Everyone in this book was evil and two faced. I didn't relate to a single character and actually fancied the idea of death to all.

The Red Witch of Nevers makes me want to be in "The Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind" right along with Jim Carrey so I can have this horrid experience erased from my memory.

Steer Clear of this book unless you are trying to punish yourself. This by far is the worst book I have ever encountered.

  1. Wow! I can only count a handful of books that have been that bad--but I suffer from the same need to finish a book once I've started it.

    Thanks for the insight!

  2. Yes, it is very rare to come across a book that utterly repulses me. Unfortunately, Lamia is one of them.

You are welcome, and thanks for following my blog. I truly appreciate it.

  3. I have to finish a book I start too. I felt that way with the first book in the Morganville Vampire series well maybe not that bad.
